Girls Day in the Country will be held on Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 March. Guest Tutor will be Anni Downs from Hatched & Patched. Bookings are essential and you must be booked in before you can purchase the day, contact the store to go onto a waiting list as the weekend is full at this stage.

2 Day Retreats

I have been running these retreats for 18 years with many groups returning the same weekend year after year. The first year I held 6 retreats now I have over 30 retreats a year. The retreats are either held on weekends or midweek, being Wednesday and Thursday. These retreats can be organised to suit a group of up to 10 ladies or for the individual. I cater for the beginner through to the more experienced patch workers.

The retreats are held from my American style barn, which is “The Cottage on the Hill”. It is situated on our family grazing property 4 ½ kilometres south of Nundle, which in turn is 45 minute’s driving time, south east of Tamworth. The barn is air conditioned for the summer months and heated by a pot belly stove for winter.

The retreats are aimed at having a relaxing 2 days away in the country with friends, new or old, enjoying country hospitality, good food and best of all working on a new quilting project of your choice. On arrival you will be given a choice of at least 6 projects, there are usually kits available for these or you can choose your own selection of fabrics. I do the cutting for everyone, to give you maximum opportunity to complete your quilt top in the 2 days.

All you need to bring along to class is your sewing machine, general sewing and patchwork equipment. Cutting boards are not required.

Cost of the retreats for 2016 are $265.00 which includes tuition, an assortment of home- made treats for morning and afternoon tea, a scrumptious lunch is served daily in my country garden and $100.00 worth of fabrics towards your quilt top.

Each Tuesday during school terms Kerry runs a weekly class from 10am – 3pm.

One Tuesday a month we cover a new technique, another Tuesday a month we do a set project, the other days are free days.
